Located within Colorado’s Front Range Mountains, Winter Park is a favorite among locals and destination skiers alike. Here at Winter Park you get a good dose of snowfall as it’s well situated to get hit from both Northern and Southern tracking storms, making this a great destination for powder skiers.
Winter Park is often defined by the Mary Jane mogul experience, and it’s one of the last few great places on earth to bash the bumps. The resort is perfect for most skiers and caters to Intermediate and Advanced skiers looking for wide open tree cut runs.
If you start at the Winter Park base you’ll find mostly beginner and intermediate terrain that is ideal for families. Starting from the Mary Jane base you’ll get into more advanced and expert skiing, and don’t forget those famous bumps!
Although Winter Park is quite large with over 3,000 acres of terrain, you don’t get the glitz and glam of some of the larger Colorado ski resorts. This is a much more laid back atmosphere, and great for families. Like many resorts on the Front Range, you will get impacted from the big drive up crowds – so plan your vacations to ski mid week, and off season to get the most out of your stay.
