Sierra At Tahoe Ski Resort Review

Sierra At Tahoe Trail Map

Sierra At Tahoe is a locals favorite with easy access, great variety of terrain, ample snowfall, and a family orientated vibe. There are some fun advanced runs with moguls, tree skiing and some nicely groomed. The majority of the resort is really focused on intermediate and beginner slopes, with fun tree cut runs. Experts may get a bit bored, but there is some hike to terrain in Huckleberry Canyon which offers a short pitch of steep chutes, cliffs, and cornices.

Convenience is a major attraction of Sierra At Tahoe as it’s the closest resort to Sacramento, and easy to reach from South Lake Tahoe as well. The base lodge elevation is perched at mid-mountain at 7,300 ft and rises up to 8,800 ft to the summit making this one of the higher based resorts in Tahoe. This is great as Tahoe can get some warmer pacific storms where elevation makes all the difference between wet snow and powder.
