Revelstoke Ski Resort Review

Revelstoke mountain is one of the most amazing powder mountains on this planet – period. Deep snowfalls, cold temperatures, and an amazing variety of terrain. Located centrally on the “Great Powder Highway” Revelstoke is the quintessential powder skiers resort.

With huge vertical comes a huge variety of snow conditions from dry light powder to rain or heavier snow down below. You’ll quickly find that Revelstoke is really a 2 lift mountain and like Whistler you’ll find all the goods up top where the conditions stay cold.

For the most part this is an Intermediate through Expert / Extreme / Backcountry resort and does not cater to the new skier crowd. Also, like most all resorts along the Great Powder Highway you won’t find the high end shopping malls, cute village scene, fur collars, and ski valet’s. What you will find is a fun town, smiling faces (Canadians are born friendly or so it seems), great snow, and an amazing range of terrain.

There are some ski-in / ski-out condo’s nestled at the base of the Gondola / Base Area, and some nice, somewhat modest hotels in town.

You will hear and see the Helicopters flying straight out of town and Revelstoke is BC’s unofficial HQ for everything Heli. CMH and many, other great heli ski outfits have lodges in town, North, South, West, and East. If you come to Revelstoke you absolutely MUST take a day or two trying out the Heli Skiing!
