Kirkwood’s lodging is fairly limited and the majority is located near the main base to offer true ski-in / ski-out accommodations. The condo’s are individually decorated and maintained, so there is some lack of consistency, but overall they’re in good condition and very comfortable. The main challenge of staying up at Kirkwood Ski Resort is the general lack of facilities, shopping and dining options. So, bring your own fun, pack your cooler, and enjoy the great outdoors.
Most of the condos offer underground parking, wood or gas burning fireplaces, full or partial kitchens, pots / pans / plates, coffee, and extra bedding There is an adequate General Store located in the main lodge area, making it nice if you would like to pick up some extra butter, milk, cereal, etc / food items you may have forgot to pack.

Some of the best skiing you may ever experience, for a hard core powder hound is staying up at Kirkwood Lodging during a major storm cycle. When the roads close Kirkwood becomes even more isolated and “empty”. Having ski-in / ski-out lodging watching the snow pile up past the top of your window’s is quite an experience. Of course first tracks are plentiful, so get up early and head out directly from your condo to get some powder laps.
