Jaguar offers the F-Pace as a very refined and good looking Sports SUV offering a ton of utility and performance. I love that the F-Pace has 8.4″ of ground clearance and this is among the leaders in this class. In addition there’s 71″ of length in the cargo area with the rear seats folded down. Finally, you can get the optional “Land Rover” AdSr traction control system to enhance the grip and control for snow and off road driving. Jag really puts a lot of utility into their Sports Utility. This is really well geared for those who may have a cabin or traverse off onto side streets / less maintained roads up in the mountains.
When it comes to performance the F-Pace packs a punch, especially when you get into the bigger engine classes of the F-Pace R-Dynamic-S, and the F-Pace SVR. Respectively they have 395 HP with 0-60 in 5.1 Seconds, and a monstrous 542 HP engine getting you 0-60 in 3.8 Seconds. These are quite impressive and very few would want a tighter spec. If you do, the Stelvio, Macan and X4 do offer faster machines.
On the handling side of the F-Pace we find the ride to be smooth, comfortable, and quite manageable around town. You don’t get the killer physics defying cornering of the Macan or X4, and there is a bit of a trade off here for more room and higher ride height. In many ways you can think of the F-Pace as a great option if you’re torn between a Mid Sized and Full Sized SUV model. The F-Pace sportier than a full sized SUV, and yet more capable than a Mid Sized SUV.
There are 5 models to select from. Loosely the Pxxx number signifies the HP. There is quite a laundry list of options and it is quite easy to tack on $3,000 – $10,000 to the base prices depending on what you’re looking for. I like the F-Pace S P250 and fully equipped for my taste comes in at about $58,000 – very similar to a BMW X4 with a similar set up:
F-Pace P250 – $51,000 246 HP with 0-60 in 6.9 Seconds
F-Pace S P250 – $54,000 246 HP with 0-60 in 6.9 Seconds
F-Pace S P340 – $60,000 335 HP with 0-60 in 5.8 Seconds
F-Pace R-Dynamic S P400 – $65,000 396 HP with 0-60 in 5.1 Seconds
F-Pace SVR – P550 – $86,000 – 542 HP with 0-60 in 3.8 Seconds
Here is a great video review I found on the Web – take a look!
