Diamond Peak Ski Resort is a great place to learn to ski, or just kick around on the slopes. On a sunny day you’ll get a strong dose of Lake Tahoe vibe when you overlook the mountain from the Snowflake Lodge or top of the Crystal Express chair.
The terrain is quite tame in comparison to Palisades Tahoe, Mt Rose, or Heavenly Valley, but you do get a nice variety of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs to keep everyone in the family happy and challenged.
This is a lake level resort and is subject to getting some wet snow or rain, primarily at the base of the resort. If the conditions are right however the snow can be quite good. On the wetter days you’ll be best served driving up to Mt Rose which is nearby.
The resort is very convenient for skiers staying up in Incline Village, Crystal Bay, and Kings Beach. So, if skiing isn’t your primary passion, but you’re looking for a great family ski vacation mixed with some gambling, fine dining, and “Tahoe Experience”, Diamond Peak could be a great place to have some fun in the snow.
